UPDATED: We will hike Deem Hills Recreation Area in North Phoenix. It will be a nice stroll through rolling hills offering gorgeous views and a well maintained trail. This hike will follow a loop including parts of Circumference Trail and possibly Palisade, Basalt and Ridgeline Trails depending on interest. Expect it to last a couple of hours.
Please bring water (of course) and, if you’d like, something to snack on. We’ll meet at Deem Hills Park (see below for directions) around 10 a.m. and start hiking shortly thereafter. I will have a small Meetup sign but feel free to call or text me at 623.455.6412 if you cannot find us.
From I-17, north of 101, exit at Happy Valley Road and turn left (west) over the highway and continue west to 51st Avenue. Turn right (north) on 51st Avenue and travel about a half mile to the stop sign at Deem Hills Parkway. Turn right and follow the road about a half mile to the entrance to Deem Hills Park on the right (east). The large parking lot will be on your left shortly after you enter the park.
