Hike West Fork Trail (Sedona)

Let’s enjoy the beautiful fall weather (and the even more beautiful fall foliage) by hiking West Fork Trail in Sedona. We’ll first meet at the Outlets at Anthem at 8 a.m. to take a headcount, make carpool arrangements and do general preparation whatnot before commencing on our adventure.

We’ll depart 15 minutes later and should arrive at the trail head by about 10 a.m. We’ll take I-17 north to milepost 298 for SR179 towards Sedona, then merge onto 89A and 10 miles later find a parking lot on the left marked “Call of the Canyon – West Fork.” There will be a $9 cost per car for parking at the trail head.

The trail is along Oak Creek, which we will cross several times. It is 6.6 miles round trip and the turnaround point is a knee-high wading pool in a box canyon. Please bring water, snacks and a camera. You may also want to consider wearing layers and nothing that you would not want to get wet.

My cell is 623.455.6412. Tally-ho and all that jazz. ;)
