UPDATE Feb 19th

We met today to finalize details. For those who missed it here’s the summary:

Skiing:

We recommend renting Ski equipment here  before you go and taking it up with you. This will give more time to make sure it’s set up properly and it should be cheaper. The best place in town to go is SkiPro i’ve listed their locations below. Lift passes can’t be bought beforehand so we’ll have to buy them up at the mountain, prices haven’t change from my last post.

SkiPro 1: 1924 W Rio Salado Parkway  (This was 8th st before name change)
Mesa, AZ 85201

SkiPro 2: 2110 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016

SkiPro (Outlet): 8698 E. Raintree Dr., Scottsdale Az

Anyone who can’t fit ski equipment in their cars details for renting at the mountain can be found here: http://sunriseskiparkaz.com/rentals/

Entertainment:

Albina is bringing some games with her for people who want to stay in the lodge. Some of us will probably head out on Saturday night as well. You’re welcome to join either camp depending on how you feel.

Alcohol:

Basically bring what you want to drink for the two nights and maybe a bit extra to share.

Food:

We’ll be taking up 2 meals Friday night and Sat breakfast. Albina will be posting details of items to bring. To make this easy she’ll just nominate people to bring something (if it’s a problem we can negotiate it)

Also bring any snacks you want both for the lodge and the mountain.

Accommodation:

Brian will be sending out final details including the exact location as it doesn’t come up properly on Google Maps. He’ll also confirm checkout times but most likely it will be around 11:00 on Sun (I believe he’s going to try and get an extension).

Day 1:

Lifts open at 9:00 so we’ll be aiming to get to the resort between 8 and 8:30 to get in early to buy tickets so we can hit the slopes. It’s a 40 – 50 min drive so this will mean getting up early on Sat morning 6 to 7ish depending on showers and whether you want breakfast.

Carpooling:

Individual drivers are sorting out with their group when they’re leaving. I believe the current scenario is

Judy – Wants to leave early afternoon

Brian & Racheal – Early afternoon

Albina – Early afternoon

Jeannie/Blaise – ??

UPDATE Feb 15th – Carpooling:

Based on comments it looks like the best groups for carpooling are currently

Driver: Judy (Tempe)

Riders: Jimmy, Alex, Peter

Driver: Albina/Jennie (Desert Ridge) – Albina i’ll let you figure out with Jennie who’s driving

Riders: Blaise, (Jennie/Albina)

If anyone else wants to carpool post a comment with where you want to take off from.  *disclaimer carpool not organized by this group but rather by it’s members individually and you agree to waive all liability towards group/organizer*

UPDATE Feb 5th: We are going with 11 people all of which have paid $50 deposit. That puts the remaining cost at $104.55 per person. Please send the remaining $104.55 to brianference@gmail.com we would like to get all payments by Feb 18th. Albina, Alicia, Brian, Blaise, Sean, Peter, Judy, Jimmy, and Rachel have already paid in full. Thanks

UPDATE Jan 30th: The plan is to head up Friday and Ski all day Saturday and most of Sunday before heading back. 2 day lift tickets are $120 from Sunrise. I will be keeping my eye out over the next couple of weeks for any offers. If anyone sees anything on livingsocial, amazon local, etc please post. Lift passes can normally be bought from Ski Pro or at the resort. For anyone who just wants to ski one day tickets are $63.
