Let’s take a single-day Sunday trip up north to Flagstaff and enjoy the slopes at Arizona Snowbowl! We will depart via carpool at about 6:30 a.m. from Outlets at Anthem in order to arrive at Arizona Snowbowl by about 9 a.m. Once there, we’ll purchase our lift tickets ($59), rent our equipment ($35/skis or $40/snowboard) and hit the slopes. We’ll head back south at about 4 p.m. (when the lifts close).
If you do not know how to ski or snowboard, do not be discouraged. In fact, now is your chance to learn! You can either take in a group lesson ($90), which also includes equipment rental and lower-mountain lift ticket, or you can get a primer from myself and others who know the basics and would be more than happy to help you. Either way, be prepared to sustain a couple of fun bumps and bruises.
Arizona Snowbowl has some dining options but I recommend bringing a sack lunch to enjoy in the middle of the day. I also suggest bringing a few bottles of water as well as some sunscreen. Dress appropriately, in layers, with your outer-most-layer being water-resistant.
